Garden Club of Los Altos
One of the oldest garden clubs in California, the Garden Club of Los Altos was organized in 1929. The purpose of this club is to stimulate interest in plants and gardening, to further horticultural knowledge in all phases and to encourage and promote civic beauty in the community.
Deeply committed to Foothill, the Garden Club has been raising funds to award scholarships to Foothill students for more than a decade. These scholarships made possible by the Joy Stewart Fund and the Marguerite Appling Fund at the Los Altos Garden Club.
They meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month. The recipient of the Garden Club of Los Altos is encouraged to come to a meeting and tell a bit about themselves. The scholarship award is meant to be spent on college expenses only.
