Gilbert Wong

Foothill-De Anza Community College Trustee Gilbert Wong is a strong education advocate with extensive community experience including leadership positions in the Rotary Club of Cupertino, Cupertino Chamber of Commerce, Cupertino Library Foundation, Asian American Parent Association, Asian Pacific American Leadership Institute, the Organization of Chinese Americans Silicon Valley chapter and Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) as Board of Director and Pacific Regional Director. Trustee Wong is a champion for community college students and wished to create a family legacy to recognize and inspire students who share a passion for education, community engagement and social justice.

He created this scholarship to recognize students who demonstrate leadership and a strong commitment to activism, community organizing, social change promoting understanding across cultural differences, and advocating for social justice in the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) communities.
