Jim Jackson

Jim Jackson, a tireless champion of education and longtime volunteer for the Foothill-De Anza Foundation, established the Jackson Family Education Scholarship through the Cupertino Rotary Endowment Foundation.

Jackson set up the scholarship fund so that every year it will benefit one De Anza student who plans on transferring to a four-year university as an education major. He established the scholarship as a way for friends and family to remember Pat, his dear wife of 59 years who passed away in 2015. The $7,000 annual scholarship is the largest private scholarship the Foundation offers. Jim wanted to make sure it would be generous enough to alleviate the financial pressure of transferring to a four-year university.

“Education has been of critical importance in my life and the life of my family, “ Jim said. “As a resident and former mayor of Cupertino, I am incredibly proud to have De Anza, a world class community college, in our city.”
