Karen Druker

Karen Druker generously created this scholarship for Foothill and De Anza students. It was important for her to provide a meaningful amount to students so that they can focus on their educational needs rather than having to worry about finances. A lifelong artist, Karen believes art not only enhances our lives, but is an essential component for industry.

She is also a firm believer in education and this scholarship is to support students who have persevered academically having overcome a great hardship(s) such as living with a disability, being the first in their family to attend college, overcoming economic hardship, being a single parent, etc.

Karen also has volunteered extensively in the community. She started the Art in Public Places Committee in Los Altos Hills, tasked with procuring sculptures for Los Altos Hills sites, as well as curating the art at Los Altos Hills Town Hall and Environmental Volunteers’ EcoCenter in the Palo Alto Baylands and currently is the curator for art shows at Los Altos Main Library. She was a longtime member of Los Altos Art Docents for 12 years including serving as Past President. She served as workshop coordinator for the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society and is past president of Beth Am Women at Congregation Beth Am, where the focus is on local social justice issues.
