Ling Bundgaard

Ling Bundgaard was born in Indonesia and emigrated to San Francisco in 1963, thanks to Hank and Golda Kaufman’s sponsorship. Ling attended Foothill College for 2 years where she met Henning via the International Club. After which Ling attended UC Berkeley for a year and married Henning, who emigrated from Denmark in 1963.

Thanks to Henning working at Fairchild, Ling got a job there too for 5 years then moved on to Intel for 31 years in various locations around the world. Ling has been happily retired since 2001. Henning passed away in 2006 and is dearly missed by the family as he had a pioneer spirit and loved America!

Foothill college, with its beautiful campus and vibrant international community supported by local neighbors, was an uplifting place for Henning & Ling. Ling will always be grateful for the scholarship to attend Asilomar, which was bestowed on her by the Foothill Dean in 1964.
