Rose A. Barrie

Rose A. Barrie, a San Jose resident, was a passionate animal lover who wanted to be a Veterinarian when she was young but was told that it was not a women’s job. Rose loved cats. Not only would she feed feral cats in the neighborhood, she would capture them and have them neutered. After Rose retired, she volunteered for many years in a veterinarian office fulfilling her dream. Margaret and Dorothea Hackenberg generously donated funds in Rose’s loving member for two $1,500 scholarships intended for Foothill Veterinary Technology students.
