The Johnson TriDom and California History Center Foundation Scholarship

The Johnson TriDom and California History Center Foundation Scholarship will be awarded to a currently enrolled De Anza College student in good standing who shows interest and promise in civil liberties advocacy work or related research. A $2,500 scholarship will be provided to the student for educational support at De Anza College. Representatives of the Johnson TriDom and California History Center foundations will make the final selection of the two recipients.
Requirements/Qualifications

Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA while carrying 6 or more units at the time of application and must meet all other requirements established by De Anza College Financial Aid Office, including the completion of their scholarship application packet.
In addition, students must attend De Anza College for the 2026-27 academic year (at least Fall and Winter quarters) and be considering a degree, or transferring, within the social sciences or humanities.

Essay
Successful candidates will write an additional essay stating why they think the protection and expansion of civil liberties through advocacy and education are important goals, and what role they feel students can play in this process. The essay should also describe how the candidate’s related student, volunteer, or paid work experiences demonstrate interest in and commitment to this endeavor. Essays should be approximately 500 words, and no more than 75 words.
