De Anza - APASA Scholarship
This award is intended to recognize a student who has successfully completed an Asian American Studies course or participated in an Asian American Pacific Islanders (AAPI) on campus club or community event within the last 2 years who express a strong desire to pursue community service, promote cross-cultural understanding, and advocate for social justice but, due to hardship may have limited volunteer experience or participation in AAPI on-campus or off-campus activities.
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need.
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in at least 8 units of course work at De Anza College.
- Applicant must have a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA with successful completion of a minimum of 12 quarter units at De Anza College.
- Applicant may NOT have previously received this scholarship.
*Schedule permitting, recipient is expected to attend award ceremony in February of the upcoming year. Lunch will be provided for the recipient and guest.
*Write a one page essay, which describes your desire to serve the AAPI community, promote cross-cultural differences, or advocate for social justice and how this scholarship might help you overcome any obstacles or hardships you face in reaching your educational and career goals.
*List a reference name, job, and email recommendation from a De Anza faculty or classified professional staff member familiar with your educational/career goals.
