Foothill-Stanford Bioresearch Internship Scholarship

The Foothill-Stanford College Bioresearch Internship Program is 10 weeks of mentoring and hands-on experience for a full and part time Foothill College student working virtually in a Stanford biology laboratory.

Internships begin during week 1 of the winter quarter with an orientation and will last for the winter quarter, through week 11. Students will be matched with a graduate student mentor in a Stanford biology lab and will commit about 5 hours each week in a lab meeting, research, and check-ins. All sessions will be held over Zoom and the phone since both campuses are both online for the winter.

Students are required to enroll in an ITRN course (1 unit) in the summer and will be required to attend an orientation during the first week of classes in winter quarter (date to be determined). Scholarship winners are required to complete a research poster and presentation of their internship experience by the end their internships with the intention of submitting this presentation to the Foothill College Research and Service Leadership Symposium held in May 2021.

To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must have completed 12 units of STEM courses at Foothill by the end of Fall quarter of the current academic year (Any science, technology, engineering or math course).
