Internship commitments:
There are two types of part-time internships – micro-internships which are a shorter time commitment, and regular internships which are for more hours per week. If you are transferring to another institution in late summer/ fall 2022, keep in mind you are expected to finish your internship through the end date in order to get your full scholarship. If this is not possible, you will need to make other arrangements with SLI and your mentor/ supervisor BEFORE your internship starts.

Micro-internships

  • Commitment of 6 – 7 hours each week for 9 weeks in summer 2022. The micro-internships will run from 6/27 – 8/26/22. Total hours for internship estimated at 60 hours.

Regular internships

  • Commitment of 15 or 20 hours each week for 9 or 10 weeks in summer 2022.
  • The 9 week internships will run from 6/27 – 8/26/22 (estimated 135 hours for 15 weeks; 180 hours for 20 weeks).
  • The 10 week internships will run from 6/27 – 9/2/22 (estimated 150 hours for 15 weeks, 200 hours for 20 weeks).

All internships require:

  • A program orientation during week 8 of spring quarter and a training on the first day of the internship on Monday, 6/27/22. There are run by the Science Learning Institute.
  • Submission of a final report of your internship experience at the end of the summer.
  • Final presentation at the end of August or early September for an audience of all interns and mentors in the program.

Supplemental Questions
  1. Which projects are you applying for? (Please choose up to 5 projects. You should be prepared to write a short paragraph of interest for each of the projects you are interested in.
