Foothill Jason Whitten EOPS Memorial Scholarship

Description:
A determined young man, Jason did not go to school until he was 15 where he first learned to read. Jason loved education, reading and writing, co-founding the Alta Vista Poetry Writer’s Workshop when he was 17 and receiving the Outstanding Student in English Award at Foothill College in his freshman year. Jason was an outstanding student with a bright, winning smile and a kind heart, who aimed to use his education to help others, especially the disadvantaged. He believed that “hard work and dedication will get you a long way” and showed this through his academic success and caring spirit in spite of remarkable adversity.
