Club Estrella Scholarships
The objective of the Club Estrella Scholarship Program is to promote higher education within the Santa Clara County Latino community. Club Estrella awards scholarships annually and over more than 30 years has awarded more than 300 scholarships. The number of scholarships and the size of the scholarships to be awarded each year will be based on the funds available each year.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be considered based on the following criteria:
a. Financial need (If selected, verification of personal and family income will be required)
b. Autobiographical statement (included in application)
c. Overall academic achievement
d. Letters of Recommendation submitted with application
Conditions
1. Applicants must be students graduating in 2023 from a high school or community college within Santa
Clara County.
2. Applicants must plan to enroll by the fall of 2023 at a community college, college, or university.
3. Applicants must be of Mexican-American, Chicano, Mexican, or Latino ancestry.
4. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA
5. Applications must be submitted either:
a. via the online application form
6. Applicants must complete and submit the online application by May 19th, 2023.
7. Education For All Children will announce the scholarship award winners no later than June 30th, 2023.
8. The scholarship award presentation date and location will be announced no later than June 30h, 2023.
Autobiographical Statement
The autobiographical statement will be an important part of the selection criteria. It is suggested that the statement
be a minimum of one page, double-spaced, and typed. The following should be included:
a. Family and personal background
b. Motivation to continue higher education
c. Participation in school and community activities
d. Goals following college graduation
