Foothill Scholarship for Veterans

Description:
Funds are raised by Scholarships for Veterans, a not-for-profit, non-partisan, non-political organization that is dedicated to making scholarships available to recent veterans and more recently funds are from Air Systems Foundation.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Applicant must be a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces who actively served in a combat zone, was injured in combat or training, was honorably discharged, or currently serves in the Reserves.

2. Applicant must be enrolled in at least 6 units at Foothill College at the time of the scholarship deadline and disbursement of scholarship funds.

3. Applicant’s cumulative Foothill GPA must be a 2.50 or higher.

Please note: If selected as a scholarship recipient , you may be required to provide a copy of your DD214. In addition, De Anza College students may apply for the same scholarship offered by De Anza College.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Preference will be given to veterans who wish to enter a medical, science, business, technology, and/or engineering field of study.

2. Financial need may be considered. We, therefore, strongly recommend that applicants file a current academic year’s financial aid application (the FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov for U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens, or the California Dream Act Application at https://dream.csac.ca.gov for undocumented students who qualify for AB540 status) at least one week prior to the scholarship application deadline by 4:00pm. NOTE: Undocumented students who do not qualify for AB540 status should contact the Financial Aid Office for guidance about completing a financial aid application.
