Foothill Joan Hobstetter Scholarship for Single Parents

Joan Hobstetter attended Foothill College as a single mother in the mid 1970s and transferred to San Francisco State where she received her teaching credential. She taught kindergarten at Addison Elementary School in Palo Alto for more than 20 years. She dedicated her life to education and had a passion for children’s theatre. This scholarship is lovingly created by her family and friends and is meant to inspire and provide some financial relief to single parents who are determined to reach their educational goals.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria:
This scholarship is intended to assist a student who is a single parent of a child or children who are under the age of 18.
*Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
*Applicant must be a single parent of children under the age of 18.
*Applicant must be working toward a career program or transfer to a four-year university.
*Applicant must be enrolled in at least 6 units at Foothill College.
