DASG General Scholarship
Description: Up to 4 scholarships awarded annually, comprising of 2 Need-Based and 2 Merit-Based.Intended to support students who have demonstrated leadership and/or community involvement while attending De Anza College
.Requirements:
•Be a current DASG constituent or DASG card holder
.•Not have received a DASG scholarship within the current nor previous academic year.•Have completed at least twelve(12) quarter units at De Anza College.
•Be enrolled in at least eight (8) quarter units for college credit at De Anza College
.•Have a minimum cumulative 2.5 Grade Point Average (GPA) at De AnzaCollege.
•Not be a current or former DASG Senator.PART 1 -Mandatory Essay Write a 300-500 word essay titled “DASG: (write your own title)” answering the question "During your time at De Anza College, how have you positively contributed to your campus and promoted equity in your local community? How have you grown through these experiences? How do you hope to utilize these experiences in future endeavors? (Please specify what groups you contributed to in these experiences).
”PART 2 -Specific Essay If you would like to be considered for the Need-Based General Scholarship, write a 150-250 word essay titled “DASG: Merit Essay” answering the question “Describe a barrier/challenge to education you have faced and how you overcame it?”If you would like to be considered for the Merit-Based General Scholarship, write a 150-250 word essay titled “DASG: Merit Essay” answering the question “Beyond what you have already mentioned in your application so far, what do you think makes you stand out?
