De Anza Juan and Carmen Miner Family Scholarship for Workforce Majors
Created in loving memory of Juan and Carmen Miner and established by Foothill-De Anza Community College Chancellor Judy C. Miner, this scholarship is intended to acknowledge students who have shown passion for their education and are currently in a workforce major. With more than 40 years as an educator, Chancellor Miner is a tireless advocate of higher education and community colleges.
To qualify for this Opportunity, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at the time of application and disbursement and have completed at least 16 units in your workforce major by the fall quarter.
- Must be enrolled in AA/AS degree or certificate that leads to employment after graduation in De Anza workforce programs such as: Administration of Justice, Automotive Technology, Child Development, Energy Management, Environmental Resource Management, Manufacturing & CNC Technologies, Health Technologies, Medical Lab Technology, Nursing AS, Paralegal Studies *
- Have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Applicant must have filed a current academic year’s financial aid application (the FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov for U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens, or the California Dream Act Application at https://dream.csac.ca.gov for undocumented students who qualify for AB540 status) at least one week prior to the scholarship application deadline by 4:00pm. NOTE: Undocumented students who do not qualify for AB540 status should contact the Financial Aid Office for guidance about completing a financial aid application.
